The God Who Exceeds Every Model
A doctrine of God adequate to encompass the Grace Interaction must begin not with abstract questions about God’s existence but with the concrete question: How big is God?
The God of All Grace embodies the reality that no system of control is total, that no set of variables exhausts the possibilities for liberation, and that the whole of life’s equation is always greater than the sum of its measured parts. The God of Divine Capacity is able to bring equilibrium where none is expected.
God is not an entity that can be measured, predicted, or contained within any human framework. If the regression equation of human life attempts to predict outcomes based on known factors (education, wealth, discrimination, resilience), then God is precisely whatever cannot be captured by the model, namely, the infinite variance that transcends all coefficients and renders every prediction incomplete.
A God small enough to fit within human moral or statistical frameworks is no God at all. God of the Grace Interaction cannot be reduced to the moral categories of any dominant group. The God of all Infinity is encountered through the indeterminate struggle for balance, wholeness, and liberation.
Precise knowledge of God cannot be expressed using a human vocabulary and grammar that lack precision. God is magnificently nuanced, a being whose presence stretches from everlasting to everlasting. How big is God? God is able to assume any form and take on any value; God is the all-encompassing Entity that balances all of life’s equations.
