The Spirit is upon you (Luke 4:18–19).
Jesus declared His purpose in the synagogue: a mission for everyone anointed by that Spirit, including you. He was anointed to proclaim good news to the poor, freedom for prisoners, recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, and proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
This is your job description too.
Use your position, voice, and access to enact those verbs: proclaim, free, recover, set free. Mentor a young person, advocate for a returning citizen, share knowledge, or intervene against unfair treatment.
Look for one person whose burden you can help lift by doing one specific thing with them.
That’s empowerment.
