The Fortress and the Fight (Psalm 9:7–10)
Category : Blogpost
When you live with injustice daily, the question is visceral: how to trust an unseen refuge when threats are tangible?
You’re tempted to be your own fortress. Psalm 9:7–10 says that the Lord reigns as a refuge for the oppressed. Those who know his name trust him; he never forsakes seekers. The psalmist anchors in God’s eternal reign and proven character.
Trust is actively seeking God. Cultivate trust by declaring God’s sovereignty despite contrary evidence. Remember times when God was your stronghold. Bring your anger, fear, and exhaustion to him first.
God is your foundation, not a substitute for action.
Being a refuge means you operate from an unshakable fortress, one that provides spiritual safety, resupply, and clarity.
You fight from being upheld, not for survival. That’s faithful endurance, not weary striving.
