All Things Work Together

Romans 8:28 (NLT)

The promise of Romans 8:28 is one of the most quoted verses in Scripture, and perhaps one of the hardest to believe when life is falling apart. “God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose.”

Notice it does not say everything is good. It says everything works together for good.

There is a difference.

Adversity catches us off guard. We question why negative events have disrupted our lives, and answers rarely come quickly. Confusion sets in. We lose our balance, cycling through anger, frustration, and despair. In our darkest moments, hope itself seems to slip away.

But remember this: God’s love is bigger than your despair. The Creator’s plan is bigger than your present moment. God is weaving a mosaic that stretches from everlasting to everlasting, and you cannot see the full picture from where you stand.

The threads that look tangled and broken today will form part of a design you will one day understand.

This does not mean we pretend pain does not exist. The pain is very real.

During times of adversity, we must hold onto the One who holds all things together.

Trust that the same God who was faithful yesterday is already working in today’s chaos, preparing a good that you cannot yet see. And that trust becomes the anchor that holds when everything else shifts.

God is working all things for our ultimate good and God’s ultimate glory.
