Justice in the Name of Jesus

Focus Scripture: Matthew 12:17-21  17 This was to fulfill what had been spoken through the prophet Isaiah: 18 “Here is my servant, whom I have chosen, my beloved, with whom my soul is well pleased. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim justice to the Gentiles. 19 He will not wrangle or cry aloud, nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets. 20 He will not break a bruised reed or quench a smoldering wick until he brings justice to victory. 21And in his name the Gentiles will hope.”

God of Justice, we thank you for Jesus who came to proclaim Justice for us all. Help us to march and raise our voices to condemn the sins we see committed against humanity each day. As we march and lift up our fists in protest, let us also lift up the name of Jesus, the source of our hope. Help us to anchor our sense of Justice in the teachings of Jesus Christ. We thank you; we praise you, and in all things, we give you glory. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
