We Pray For Inner Peace

Philippians 4:6-7  Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Holy God, our hearts are troubled by unspecified disquietness today. Gun violence, political dissension, mean-spiritedness, and general dis-ease characterize the world we live in. These things keep us unsettled and disturb your peace. We find ourselves ill-equipped to deal with all this negativity sometimes. But when we remember that you are in control, a certain calmness begins to flood over us. And we recall what is written in your holy word: be anxious for nothing. So we are letting our requests be made known to you today, O God. We pray that you will bless us with your peace that passes all understanding and guard our hearts and our minds. In all things, we give you glory. In Jesus‘s name we pray. Amen.
