Matthew 5:43-44 (NLT) “You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your enemy. But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!”
Holy God, Loving God, Righteous God, we come into your presence with thanksgiving today. We thank you for another day of life. We thank you for another chance to get it right. We thank you for your word of truth that tells us to love. We ask that you open our hearts and our minds to the possibilities of loving our neighbors as ourselves. Help us to find a new, bold, and extravagant way to show our love and compassion, even to our enemies. We love you Lord because you first loved us. Please forgive us where we fall short. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
