Daily Prayer

Focus Scripture: Psalm 27:1-3

The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?
When the wicked came against me
to eat up my flesh,
my enemies and foes,
they stumbled and fell.
Though an army may encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war may rise against me,
in this I will be confident.

God of Mercy, we praise you because you are worthy of praise. We lift up our cares today. We pray especially for:

  • People who are mourning the loss of a loved one
  • Courage for those who are fearful
  • Healing for those who are sick and cannot get well
  • People who are overworked and overwhelmed
  • Those who are lonely and lost
  • People who feel unappreciated
  • People who are weary
  • People who have been wounded by racism and other forms of bigotry
  • People in prisons
  • People in hospitals, hospice centers, and nursing homes

O God, we pray for patience as we wait on you to perform your will. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen
