Gratitude for Rescuing Us from the Pit

Focus Scripture: Psalm 40:1-3 I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry .He drew me up from the desolate pit, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.

Redeemer God, thank you for inclining to us and hearing our prayers. Thank you for bringing us out of a horrible pit. When we look back over our lives, we know that it was you who set our feet on solid ground and gave us something to do in your sacred kingdom. We realize it is you who constantly quiets our spirits when we are cast down. You are our refuge and our dwelling place. We don’t know what we would do without your love. We place our hope in you, O God, and we praise your Holy Name. In all things, we give you the glory. We pray it in the name of Jesus. Amen.
