Faith as a Road to Peace – Focus Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6
Several years ago, interns at my chaplaincy field study site took turns sharing stories about what had brought us to this juncture in our lives. Over the next few months, as I continued my reflections, I moved through a growth process that involved peeling off my bewilderment layer by layer, praying for guidance, then releasing my concerns to the Master before moving on. With each new revelation came a new release. And with each new release, I felt myself growing stronger and more confident in my calling. In the process, I experienced a peace that is hard to explain.
From all of this I have drawn many conclusions: When you trust God, God will direct your path, protect you, and use you to inspire others to put their trust in God. To tell it the way my grandmother used to tell it, “I once was lost, but now I’m found. I was blind, but now I see.” And the more I tell this story, the clearer becomes my vision and the more at peace I feel!
God bless you!
Sustaining God, when I am uncertain and confused, help me know that I can turn to you for the answers. Fortify my faith and help me acknowledge you in all things. Amen.
