Daily Prayer

English: Music example from Julius Reubke's So...

Focus Scripture:  Psalm 40:1-3

I waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me,
and heard my cry.
He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
set my feet upon a rock,
and established my steps.
He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
many will see it and fear,
and will trust in the Lord.

Redeemer God, we thank you for your loving kindness toward us. We lift up our brokenness for your healing touch. Please hear our prayers and answer. We pray especially for:

  • People whose faith is wavering.
  • People who perceive themselves to be in danger.
  • People who are under attack by their enemies.
  • Those in need of spiritual renewal.
  • Those who need a little peace in their lives.
  • People who are victims of ignorance, fear, and prejudice.
  • People who lack self-confidence and hope.

O God, we stand on your promises today and with grateful hearts we claim what you have already declared in your Holy Word. Have mercy on your people; have mercy on your world. In all things we give you the glory. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen
