Daily Chapel Prayers

Prayer of Release from Worry

Focus Scripture: 1Peter 5:6-7  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.

Loving God, we cast our concerns on you today. And we thank you for all you have done, all you are doing, and all you are about to do in the lives of those who love you. Grant us your peace today. We ask that you bless people who are embarking on something new, people who are lonely, those who are homeless and hungry. Thank you for blocking the efforts of those who would do us harm. We pray that you will turn our enemies away in shame. We place our trust in you. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Daily Chapel Prayer

Prayer of Gratitude

Focus Scripture: Psalm 103:2-5 Bless the Lord, O my soul,  and do not forget all his benefits— who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the Pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good as long as you live so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Lord God, we love you because you have heard our voices and our supplications.  You have inclined your ear to us and answered our prayers. And we don’t take for granted your benefits. You forgive our iniquities, heal our diseases, and redeem our lives from destruction. We thank you for your tender mercies. God of our Fathers, we place our hope in you today. We trust in you and we take shelter beneath the shadow of your wings. Have mercy on us, we pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Praises to Almighty God

Focus Scripture: Psalm 100:1 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.

God of Healing, God of Cheer, we make a joyful noise to you today! We come into your presence with singing, and we bless your holy name. Thank you for all the ways you have shown yourself to us this day. Thank you for sustaining us by your grace. We thank you because your mercy endures throughout all generations. We lift up our eyes expectantly. And we give you praise and gratitude. Forgive us of our sins we pray. Help us to walk in a way that pleases you in all we say and do. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
