Daily Prayer

Focus Scripture: Psalm 30:11-12 You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever!

God of Joy, you are the only wise and eternal God, and we bless your holy name. We pray for others and ourselves today:

  • People who are addicted.
  • Prayer groups and prayer warriors.
  • Those who are stuck in jobs they hate.
  • Victims of police brutality.
  • People who are grieving the loss of a loved one.
  • People who are burdened down by guilt and shame.
  • People whose friendships are under attack.

We receive your blessings in the name of Jesus. And we thank you in advance. Amen.

  • Our homes and communities.
  • Governmental officials and political leaders.
  • Grandmothers and grandfathers.
  • Friends who stand by us in times of trial.

  • Comfort for those who mourn.
  • People in nursing homes.
  • Churches open in your name.

Compassionate God, we lift up our brokenness to you and rely on your love to heal and sustain us. We pray for others and ourselves today. We pray especially for:

  • Rest for the weary.
  • Strength for those who have no might.
  • Courage for those in the valleys of death.
  • Those who have lost their way.
  • People who are lonely.
  • Those who are afraid to trust.
  • People who are sad.
  • Those who have control issues.
  • Those in need of spiritual restoration.
  • Those who need physical healing.
  • Those whose thoughts are troubled.
  • People grieving the loss of loved ones.

Precious Lord who bears our burdens, have mercy on your people. Have mercy on your world. Amen
